In 1994, Ms. Dechman was honored by the Tennessee Bar Association with the prestigious Public Service Attorney of the Year Award. She is an incorporator and past president of the Chattanooga's women's bar association and past Board Member/ Secretary/ Treasurer of The Chattanooga Bar Association. She is a board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and a member of the Estate Planning Council. She is also a board Member of Fortwood Center and a member of the Downtown Civitan Association.
